Winch Mounts

Freedom of choice is alive and well in the area of Can-Am Maverick winch mount options, and we’ve made sure to keep it that way at Everything Can-Am Offroad. There are tons of different ways to set up a front or rear-mounted winches, each with its own benefits and drawbacks, and they’re almost all represented in this category. For example, if you’re looking for the most convenient option that doesn’t compromise on strength and stability, a Can-Am Maverick winch-compatible bumper is a great way to knock out two jobs with one piece. If you prefer to do it yourself and attach that winch to the frame, there are plenty of aftermarket X3 winch mount kits available in this category from leading brands like KFI, UTV Inc, Kolpin, and more.

Not only do you have a tough choice to make in terms of how you want to set up your winch, but you also have to decide where you want it as well. Not sure how to narrow this down? Let’s walk through the rationale here, because your preferred location can determine which kind of Can-Am Maverick mounting brackets or other accessories you need. If your winch is primarily intended to pull your vehicle out of muddy areas, then you will want it mounted high – we’ve got you covered. If you need a winch to drag your kill into your bed, you’ll want the winch placed just above the bed – yup, we’ve got you covered there as well. Whatever your aim, this flexible selection of high-quality Can-Am Maverick winch mounts will keep you out of trouble and having fun.

And what about small parts, should you bring some of those along as well? Short answer, yes. A belt is good to have on the machine at all times, and having an axle in the bike or at the very least the truck is also good. It’s hard to know exactly where to draw the line with what to bring, but you definitely need to have room for a cooler full of beverages no matter what. And don’t forget to bring a clutch tool for changing the belt, electrical tape, crescent wrenches, and hose clamps.

Regarding at-home Can-am Defender tools, a grease gun is a must for greasing up wheel bearings. If you’re doing any work on the clutch, be it either the primary or secondary, you’re going to need a special CVT clutch tool if you want to do it right. This tool loosens the belt up by spreading the secondary sheaves, making it so that when you put it all back together, you can do so much easier and, more importantly, correctly. Your Can-Am Defender clutch isn’t something you want to cut corners on, especially since it is your main source to make a machine move. Of course there are ways around using specialized UTV tools, but for what they cost we would without a doubt just recommend buying the right tools to get the job done right the first time.
